Viewpoints

Provided you have a working Java installation and an adequate graphics processor you can start a Virtual Globe viewer at any of the given viewpoints by clicking in one of the pictures. If you have a running Globe you can make it jump to the viewpoint by right-button clicking the image, selecting copy link address and paste into the Globe (menu: Tools/Paste link for a view) or into the Globe viewpoint table (menu: Tools/Viewpoints...).

You can create your own viewpoint list by copying links from the Globe (menu: Tools/Copy link for current view) or from the Globe viewpoint table.

The Virtual Globe is now integrated in Wikipedia. For many geographical entries you can select a link to a geographical position and open a map select page. The Virtual Globe is there one of your possible map choices.

New user should perhaps have a look at the main page first.

Mars

The cold-blue haze that looks great on the earth does not look quite natural on Mars. To get a better "extraterrestial feeling" you should go to the Tools/Settings/Environment and turn off Sky color and Haze.
